Release notes

What has changed in Crover, month by month – in short.

October 2026

Version 2026.10

Tune the crossover automatically (Beta)

Crover suggests a 2-way crossover from your driver data: crossover frequency, filters, level matching and baffle-step compensation, on standard values or your own stock. Every suggestion says why it looks the way it does, keeps fixed protection rules for tweeters and amplifiers, and changes your circuit only when you adopt it. Beta means: check every suggestion before you build – and tell us what doesn't fit.

  • Before tuning, Crover checks every driver and shows what is missing or stands out.
  • Adopt a suggestion right away or compare it with your crossover first.
  • Adopting is one undo step, and in cloud projects the state before and after stays as a version.

Scanned datasheets read too

Datasheets without real text – scans, or PDFs whose lettering is only graphics – are now read with text recognition. On scans about 4 in 5 values come out right – every value read that way is marked „please check“ until it fits the others; a click shows where it stands in the sheet. Pasted text is read as thoroughly as a PDF.

  • A paste now brings sensitivity, frame and cut-out diameter and mounting depth along, and a value stated twice with different numbers is marked.
  • If text recognition finds nothing: on a Mac or iPhone you can copy the text straight out of the PDF image and paste it.

Enclosure planner as an Alpha

Plan the box right next to the crossover: enter the T/S or take them from the datasheet, set the volume and port, move the drivers on the baffle. Key figures such as tuning, excursion and port air speed update as you go. Without a measurement yet, the crossover can work with the estimated curves. Alpha means: for textbook and literature cases the calculation is right, the comparison with WinISD is still running – measure before you buy parts. Feedback helps a lot.

  • Sealed, vented, passive radiator and bandpass – with chambers, partitions and several ports.
  • Maximum power and maximum level, with the part that reaches its limit first, and pre-filters such as a subsonic filter.
  • Open WinISD projects (.wpr) and drivers (.wdr).
  • How accurate is Crover? What is checked and what isn't yet. Read the manual

Version 2026.09

Smaller improvements

Plus many small things that make everyday work nicer:

  • Amplifier output impedance, for example for tube amps.
  • Straight or right-angled wires, with junction dots at branches; overlapping wires now run side by side.
  • Measurement files are read more accurately, and a wrong time reference in measurement exports is detected.
  • Deleted projects go to “Recently deleted” first and can be restored for 30 days. Go to “Recently deleted”
  • Report a bug or send an idea right from Crover – answers show up at the bell at the top.
  • The German version now uses the usual German builder terms throughout.
  • Security improved.

Free calculators and guides

Quickly calculate a crossover, baffle step, Zobel, L-pad or vented port online – with the formulas, no sign-in needed. Open the crossover results in Crover with one click. Plus guides on measuring impedance with REW, FRD and ZMA files, and the baffle step.

Show your project publicly

Turn your project into a page of its own with a description, build photos, schematic, response and parts list. Share the link in a forum – with a preview image. Anyone can edit their own copy with one click.

Import XSim projects

Open your XSim projects in Crover – with parts, wires and measurements. Muted drivers, level trims, capacitor ESR and the phase settings come along, so the curves look like they did in XSim. A report shows what was imported.

New chart views

See what the crossover delivers electrically to each driver, how much voltage, current and power a single part sees, and what the impulse and step response look like. You find overloaded resistors before they get hot.

Large projects in the browser

Crover keeps a copy of your projects in the browser – now large projects with lots of measurements too. Keep working without internet; your changes are sent as soon as you are back online.

Crover on the iPad

The canvas now works well with your finger, Apple Pencil and trackpad: a long press opens the menu, a bar offers rotate, duplicate and delete, and two fingers pan and zoom.

Manual and example project

The new manual explains step by step how to build a crossover with your measurements and read the curves. To try things out there is a ready-made example project, no sign-in needed.

Assistant with your own key

With your own API key from Anthropic, OpenAI or Mistral the assistant helps with your crossover: it sees the circuit and the curves, suggests changes, tries them out first and optimises part values. You decide what gets applied.

Tools that work on a driver

Crossover, notch, Zobel and L-pad now work on a chosen driver: values come from your measurements, a preview shows the effect in the chart, and the network is inserted fully wired.

Work on projects together

Share a project by link to edit together or just to view. Changes show up on every device right away, the history shows who changed what, and versions keep important milestones.

A tidier canvas

Parts show as clear schematic symbols, wires run at right angles and snap onto terminals, and one click in the palette places a part. Drop a part onto a wire and it is inserted there.
